About Jade
Jade Eckardt is a writer, editor, and storyteller with nearly two decades of experience covering travel, culture, social justice, food, environmental issues, and hyperlocal news for both digital and print platforms.
Her work has appeared in numerous regional and national publications. She has reported on President Barack Obama from the White House motorcade, served as an editor at several news outlets, written audio-tour scripts for national parks, and is the author of Moon Kauaʻi.
Her photography is frequently published alongside her written work, complementing her storytelling with a strong visual sensibility.
Raised on the Big Island of HawaiÊ»i, Jade has called OÊ»ahu’s North Shore home for more than a decade. She spends her time surfing, fishing, and traveling with her son in search of good waves, good food, and good people.
She holds a BA in anthropology from the University of Hawaiʻi.
